The new hotel director, a 29-year-old native Berliner, owes his many years of experience and expertise to his studies in the hotel industry and various roles in the high-end Swiss hotel business. Dennis Szelkowski has gained invaluable experience at the 5-star Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz and the Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol Jochberg in Kitzbühel. His most recent role was as Operations Manager, supporting the hotelier family in running the 4-star Hotel Mirabeau & Spa in Zermatt. It was here that he met his wife Mareike Szelkowski. After her own training in hotel management at the 5-star Schlosshotel Hugenpoet in Essen, she spent time in England and France, before moving to Zermatt in 2012. She started as a receptionist at the renowned Seiler hotels Mont Cervin Palace and Monte Rosa. The 34-year old German citizen then stepped up to a role as Front Office Manager at the Hotel Mirabeau & Spa in 2015.

The Matthiol serviced apartments provide the ideal accommodation and spacious ambience for families and groups. The mountain restaurant Stafelalp at 2,200 metres is also part of the Maisons Matthiol Group.
